Install apps on a VIDAA TV from the App Store

Install an app from a VIDAA TV's App Store, through My Apps on older layouts or from the Home screen on the 2025 U9 layout, with what to check if the app or store is missing.

Applies to: VIDAA TVs with My Apps → App Store (Hisense’s 2021 manual) or the Home-screen app store in Hisense’s 2025 VIDAA U9 NA/SA e-manual.

Compatibility & scope

The My Apps branch is based on the 2021 Hisense-hosted manual whose PDF metadata identifies VIDAA U4.2. The hosted file is named for 40A4GV; the cover does not list every supported model. The Home-screen branch is based on Hisense's English e-manual whose PDF metadata title is E-Manual MT9603 VIDAA U9 NA/SA (the manual prints no date or version; the PDF was created in 2025), downloaded from Hisense Chile (hisense.cl), where it is hosted for the models 58Q6QV, 40Q4SV and 50A4NV; app availability varies by country and region. Use these instructions only where the named controls match your TV. Features and services vary by model and region. Documentation reviewed; no TV hardware tested.

Install from the App Store

On a VIDAA TV, apps come from the TV’s App Store and the TV must be connected to the internet. How you reach the store depends on the layout:

  • Older My Apps layout (Hisense’s 2021 manual): press Home, open My Apps → App Store, select the app and choose Install. The app then appears in My Apps.
  • Newer Home screen (Hisense’s 2025 VIDAA U9 e-manual): press Home, select the app store, open the app’s page and choose Install.

Add an app in My Apps (older layout)

  1. Press Home on the remote (the house button).
  2. Open My Apps, then App Store.
  3. Browse to the app you want and select it.
  4. Choose Install.
  5. Go back to My Apps; the new app is listed there.

Add an app from the Home screen (2025 U9 layout)

  1. Press Home.
  2. Select the app store.
  3. Use the arrow buttons to highlight the app you want and press OK to open its page.
  4. Select Install. The TV installs the app.

To find an app by name, use a Search icon: on the Home screen it’s on the left side, and inside the app store it’s in the top-right corner. If your remote has a microphone button, you can also press and hold it and say the app’s name.

On this layout, the TV may ask you to sign in to your VIDAA account before it installs an app.

Cost and sign-in

Hisense says adding apps is free, but some apps may cost money to use. Separately from the TV, a streaming service may ask you to sign in to its own account.

If the app or the App Store isn’t there

Check that your TV has one of the two layouts above: My Apps → App Store, or an app store you open from the Home screen. Other VIDAA versions look different, and a Hisense or VIDAA badge alone doesn’t tell you which layout you have.

If one service isn’t in the store, it may not be offered for your TV model or country; check with the service or your TV’s maker. This guide doesn’t cover sideloading apps from USB or other sources; Hisense’s U9 e-manual recommends installing from the app store and warns that APK files downloaded from the internet may not install.

If an install fails on the U9 layout, the manual suggests these checks:

  1. If you’ve just turned the TV on, wait until it has finished starting.
  2. Check that the TV is connected to the internet.
  3. Free up storage by uninstalling apps you rarely use. Clearing an app’s cache also frees space, but it permanently deletes that app’s user data and temporary files.
  4. Try again later: the app’s service may be temporarily unavailable.

If it still fails, note the app name and the exact error message for support.

Move the app where you want it

Once the app is installed, you can change its position with the VIDAA app-order guide.
