Compatibility & scope
Based on VIDAA’s written mobile-app support FAQ, which does not specify a complete model/version list or every pairing dialogue. The Settings → Connection branch and the Content Sharing requirement come from Hisense's English e-manual whose PDF metadata title is E-Manual MT9603 VIDAA U9 NA/SA (the manual prints no date or version; the PDF was created in 2025), downloaded from Hisense Chile (hisense.cl), where it is hosted for the models 58Q6QV, 40Q4SV and 50A4NV; other regions and other TV brands that run VIDAA may differ. That manual lists turning the TV on or off among the app's functions but does not say whether this works from standby. You need access to the TV menus and a powered, networked TV. This covers the official VIDAA mobile app, not the companion app being developed by this site’s owner. No hardware testing or video observation is claimed.

Scan the QR code on your TV
To get the right VIDAA phone app for your TV, open the TV’s Mobile App menu and scan the QR code it shows. VIDAA’s support FAQ says this points you to the official app for that TV, in iOS and Android versions. Where the menu is depends on your TV:
- Settings → Support → Mobile App, as in VIDAA’s support FAQ.
- Settings → Connection → Mobile App Download, on TVs with the menus in Hisense’s 2025 VIDAA U9 e-manual.
You need working TV controls to reach these menus. If the remote is lost and you can’t move around the TV’s menus, you can’t set the app up this way.
What the app can do once it’s connected
Hisense’s U9 e-manual lists these functions:
- turn the TV on or off
- change the volume
- switch channels
- type into the TV with your phone’s keyboard
- share photos, music or videos from your phone to the TV
The manual doesn’t say whether the app can switch the TV on from standby, or which TV setting that needs.
If the app doesn’t find the TV
Work through VIDAA’s checklist:
- Put the phone and TV on the same network.
- On the TV, open Settings → Support → Disclaimer and Privacy and agree to the End User License, Disclaimer and Privacy Policies. VIDAA lists this agreement as a requirement for connecting.
- Close and reopen the phone app, then select your TV from the list.
Extra checks on TVs with the 2025 U9 menus
Hisense’s U9 e-manual adds one requirement and names the exact agreement screen:
- Turn on Settings → Connection → Multimedia Device Connection → Content Sharing. The manual says the app needs it.
- To check that you’ve agreed to the licence and privacy policies, open Settings → Support → Disclaimer and Privacy → Data Sharing, Privacy and EULA.
Then open the app again and select your TV.
If the TV still doesn’t appear
- Open the TV’s Mobile App menu again and check that the app you installed matches the one its QR code points to.
- Note whether the TV is not listed at all, or listed but fails when you select it. Support needs to know which.
If VIDAA’s checks don’t fix it, contact your TV’s manufacturer with the exact TV model, the app version and the point where the connection stops. VIDAA’s FAQ doesn’t suggest a factory reset for this; if you do reset for another reason, see resetting a VIDAA TV.
The official VIDAA app is a different product from the companion app this site’s team is developing.
