Compatibility & scope
Based on Samsung's US English e-manuals for 2020–2026 TVs, each shared by a model year, Samsung's UK/EU English e-manuals for 2018–2019 TV families (Kant-M2, Kant-S and Muse), and the EU English e-manual (BN81-28760C). The covers don't list every model. The 2018–2019 paths come only from the UK/EU manuals; 2017 models aren't covered. The manuals give the Network Status and IP Settings menu locations but don't describe each field on those screens, so this guide doesn't promise a particular field name for the address. Wired networking isn't supported on some models. Documentation reviewed; no TV hardware tested for this article.

Where to find your Samsung TV’s IP address
Your Samsung TV’s network details are under Network Status, and its address settings are under IP Settings inside it. Open Network Status for your TV’s year, then select IP Settings.
| TV year | Path to Network Status |
|---|---|
| 2025–2026 | Home → left directional button → Settings → All Settings → Connections → Network → Network Status |
| 2023–2024 | Home → left directional button → Settings → All Settings → Connection → Network → Network Status |
| 2022 | Home → Menu → Settings → All Settings → Connection → Network → Network Status |
| 2018–2021 | Home → Settings → General → Network → Network Status |
The 2018–2019 path comes from Samsung’s UK/EU e-manuals.
Samsung’s manuals describe Network Status as showing the current network status (2018–2021 TVs add internet status). They don’t list every field on these screens. If you can’t find the address there, your router’s app or admin page usually lists connected devices with their addresses (that’s a router feature, not something Samsung’s manuals cover).
Read the address without changing anything
- Open Network Status using the path for your TV’s year.
- Select IP Settings.
- Note the TV’s own IP address. If an app asks for the TV’s address, use that one, not the router (gateway) or DNS server address.
You don’t need to change any values to read the address. Samsung’s manuals point to IP Settings mainly for one fix: checking the DNS setting when the TV reaches your home network but not the internet. Leave the values as they are unless you’re following that fix or instructions from whoever manages your network.
The IP address is the TV’s location on your home network. It isn’t the model code or serial number, and an app that asks for an IP address can’t find the TV from a model number.
If the TV isn’t connected
The TV only has an IP address on your network once it’s connected. Connect it first, and use the Samsung Wi-Fi guide if it won’t join your Wi-Fi.
If Network Status shows a connection to your home network but no internet, Samsung suggests two checks:
- Make sure the internet cable is plugged into the router’s (access point’s) external LAN port.
- Check the DNS setting in IP Settings.
If you’re setting up a phone remote
A remote app may need more than the address: usually the phone on the same Wi-Fi network as the TV, and permission on the TV. For Samsung’s own app, see using your phone as a Samsung TV remote.
